Scripting is the action of plotting the story, writing dialogues, describing shots and determining brief camera movements. Like theatre, television and cinema, writing for animation requires the ability to write visually. Animation transmits information through movements, poses, and timing. The script needs to reflect this.
Scripts are developed by writers attending story sessions with the director. The gags, concepts, story idea and sequences of the animated cartoon are developed at this stage.
